The modern, thriving City of Derby sits comfortably at the centre of England. This central position has enabled Derby to take its place at the heart of much of our countries wonderful history as well as influencing the development of many other parts of the world.
Derby can justifiably claim to be the Cradle of the Industrial Revolution through having the worlds first factory, today the gateway to the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Within the city can also be found one of the earliest public parks in the world, one of only six surviving medieval bridge chapels, the origin of the term Quakers, medieval streets, 16th century pubs as well as many other places of beauty and antiquity.
This website seeks to illustrate, through the use of photos and some background information, just some of the wonderful and fascinating sites within the City of Derby and its surrounding area. It is a constant work in progress and I will be adding to it frequently so please come back as often as you like. Underlined text provides a link to another website associated to the subject - just click on it and it will open in a new window
WHATS NEW -

A new feature will shortly be available on the site - a shop. Through this it will be possible to purchase prints of a selection of my photos. Hopefully other products will be available eventually such as framed prints, postcards and gift cards.
